Is my PC compatible with Windows 11?
Run Microsoft’s free “PC Health Check” app: it gives you the answer in one click. The three things that most often block the upgrade are the processor, the TPM 2.0 chip and Secure Boot.
The simplest method
Download PC Health Check, then click “Check now”. The result shows what is missing, if anything.
Check manually
TPM chip
Windows + R, type tpm.msc: the specification version must be 2.0.
Secure Boot
Windows + R, type msinfo32: “Secure Boot State” must show On.
Processor
It must be on Microsoft’s list: generally Intel 8th generation or AMD Ryzen 2000 and newer.
Minimum requirements
| Processor | 1 GHz, 2 cores, 64-bit, on Microsoft’s list |
|---|---|
| Memory | 4 GB |
| Storage | 64 GB |
| Security | TPM 2.0, UEFI with Secure Boot |
TPM or Secure Boot disabled? They can often be enabled in the BIOS. A technician can guide you.
